On 27th April 2024, Willdem Smile Foundation held their annual Fundraising Dinner and Dance at College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London Tottenham Centre, High Road in the main hall.
This year, the Fund raised is intended to help support Cancer Research and to design workshops to give our communities greater awareness of Breast Cancer, a disease that scientists have been working hard to find a cure for.
The hall was beautifully decorated with white table cloths and chair covers with pink table runners to give more significance to the evening. The styles of the flowers on each round table including the high table were very colourful with a skill full touch of pink, which gave a special convivial mood to the function.
The evening was fabulous, and extremely enjoyable as everything went well according to plan.
They started with an opening prayer rendered by Reverend Deo Dravie, followed by an outstanding speech of the Chair of Willdem Smile Foundation in the person of Ms Christiane Sanvee.
Just after the speech of the Chair of the Foundation, our guest speaker, Ms Marie-Antoinette Johnson made a mind-blowing presentation about Breast Cancer and she distributed a card with three NHS links for all the attendees to use for further their knowledge about Breast cancer.
Then after, three course dinner was served with variety of African and European succulent dishes. The guests were made up of many nationalities and the DJ tailored the music he played in such a way that everyone’s taste was catered for. enjoyed it as they dance all night long.
Various sister associations were invited and they were present with some of their members to support the efforts of the Foundation. How thoughtful!
The MC, Mr Kpoti Agbodjan was outstanding, as he used his professional craft to manage all the different activities during the function.
Another guest speaker came from Eminent Financial. His name is Mr Oluseyi Obadare and he delivered an impressive presentation on health protection insurance and financial security. He encouraged all the guests to ensure that they get health protection insurance to protect their families and also leave something behind for them when they pass away.
During the Fundraising activities, our Sister Associations and invited guests made handsome donations. There was a table collection competition. Each guest at every table was asked to contribute some money. The table that contributed the most was the winner and they won a lovely prize as a result.
There was also a raffle draw with three winning tickets. The prizes were high quality microwave, juicer, and air fryer. The three lucky winners went home very happy with their valuable prizes.
The night ended very well, and everyone went home extremely satisfied.
